Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
1. Who we are
otherstanding provides an online platform for building and running AI roleplay simulations for training and education. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. Data we collect
Account data - name, email address, and optional profile details (bio, website, avatar, username) that you choose to provide.
Usage data - the simulations you create, the runs you launch, credit purchases and balances, and basic technical logs needed to operate the service.
Participant data - when someone joins a simulation through a link, we store the name or identifier they enter, their conversation transcript, timings, the feedback generated for them, and their consent record (including the time of consent).
Support data - the name, email and message you send through our Help Center.
3. How we use data
We use personal data to run simulations, generate feedback and analytics, maintain accounts and credit balances, provide customer support, keep the service secure, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, use participant transcripts for advertising, or use your conversations to train our own models.
4. AI processing
Simulation conversations and feedback are generated by AI models accessed through Lovable's AI gateway, currently provided by OpenAI and Google, acting as our processors. Conversation content is sent to those providers solely to produce the simulated reply, debrief and feedback. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into a simulation conversation.
5. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we process account and usage data to perform our contract with you, participant data on the basis of the consent collected before a simulation begins, and security and support data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable service.
6. Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us operate the platform, each bound to protect the data. Our sub-processors are: Lovable (application hosting and AI gateway), OpenAI (text models), Google (image models), Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Paddle (payments and invoicing) and Hostinger (domain and email delivery). Trainers can see the sessions and feedback belonging to simulations they own. We may disclose data where required by law.
7. Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Simulation, session and transcript data is kept until you delete it or delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, simulations, runs and session data from our live systems; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period.
8. Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account from your account settings, or contact us using the details below. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production data is restricted, and database access rules limit each account to its own records. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
10. International transfers
Our infrastructure and AI providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
11. Children
The service is intended for professional and higher-education use and is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes and contact
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date above. For privacy questions or requests, write to support@otherstanding.com or use our Help Center.
